MEETING OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC OF ALICANTE

The Sax-Ensemble Group was present at the Meeting of Contemporary Music will take place the days 17, 18 and 19 September in Alicante. This activity is intended to contact the various actors involved in the creation of contemporary music and also involving several European festival organizers.

Francisco Martinez is a saxophone professor since 1982 and performer since 1980. His training at conservatories in Madrid and Alicante, and later in Paris, Bordeaux, and with the most renowned professors of the French school have allowed him to be one of the best prepared teachers in Spain.

Management

notas-musica-ritmo (Copiar) He was the founder of the Association of Spanish Saxophonists, and organizer of many activities to promote the saxophone in Spain. In 1987 he organized in Alicante the II European Saxophone Meeting, where the Sax-Ensemble performed for the first time.

He is a saxophone professor at the Conservatory Teresa Berganza of Madrid and also a music professor at the "Universidad Autónoma" of Madrid. He has taught master classes on the saxophone, contemporary music, and masters of music and art in the first half of the twentieth century, in over fifteen countries and three continents.

Saxophone Performer

His activity has led to the world premiere of 150 works for saxophone and the publication of 14 CDs and 2 DVDs so far. He has performed in over 15 countries in the Americas, Asia and Europe and has performed five world premieres of concerts with orchestra.
